Renault was finally able to earn accolades and profits in Indian markets independently by launch of its compact SUV the Duster in both diesel and petrol variants. This diesel SUV was designed as a compact wagon in collaboration with Renault’s subsidiary Dacia located at Romania and released in 2010 as Dacia Duster and sold in South East Asian nations as Renault Duster. Its previous muscular design based on BO platform has been retained due to its spacious measuring body and boot section which can be increased with folding and tipping its rear seats. Though the new variant will be available in previous colors of metallic silver, white, black, blue, fiery red and woodland brown the car will have a different grille design along with changes made to rear section and wheels.
From the spy pictures available about this soon to be launched SUV we can see that face-lifted Renault Duster will have chrome on its new grille design along with new headlamp cluster and LED rear stop lamp cluster too. Renault is expected to load this vehicle with features that were missing in older Duster model like center armrest in front and rear seats, redesigned instrument cluster and navigational system. The engines are expected to remain same in both petrol and diesel variants with both five and six speed manual gear boxes. Rest of its body design remains the same with muscular wheel arches and chrome accentuated door handles.
The production model of Renault’s new Duster will be showcased in 2014 Auto Expo to be held at Delhi followed by sale later during the year. Its new headlamp cluster has two optic units and one with LED running lights and moderately revised bumper. Alloy wheels with new five spoke design look attractive and enhance the underbody cladding in silver color which is also extended to function as side stepper for convenience of passengers. Other additions to the new Renault are roof rails with a sporty design followed by exhaust pipe with chrome lining all of which make it look more youthful. Though most of the interiors look similar, modifications have been made to instrument cluster while storage boxes have been installed on both front and rear armrests.
